After you’ve made the grim discovery that they’ve slipped the polonium into your tea and as your brain melts from your ears you’ll see blurry shapes from behind your tears. You will wake up with your arse hanging out of a hospital gown in a secret bunker in Porton Down and as you hear them unsheathe the probe and feel the softening of your frontal lobe you will laugh, you will cry, then you’ll beg for mercy on your soul, mercy on your soul. And before you expire from an insult to the brain or a particularly virulent strain of the heebee geebees, the Legionnaires or a mysterious case of being shoved down the stairs. You will laugh, you will cry, then you’ll beg for mercy on your soul, mercy on your soul. Down in the Office of Special Affairs after they make you play the musical chairs and just before you’re about to crack you’ll cut your losses and slip out the back. As you move down past the fourth corner of Hell, down past the drunken infidel, past the hawkers hawking the last of the ling, the local Wahhabis and their reckoning they will recapture you and take you back to their lair, strap you in to the Chinese torture chair and as they hook you up to the Agent X and you feel the softening of your frontal cortex you will laugh, you will cry, then you’ll beg for mercy on your soul, mercy on your soul.
